Terms & Conditions | RecentTabs

Review the terms that apply when using the RecentTabs website and browser extension.

Last updated: Apr 17, 2026

Welcome to RecentTabs. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the RecentTabs website and browser extension (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What RecentTabs Provides

RecentTabs is a browser productivity tool that helps users switch tabs by most recently used order, search open tabs, and restore recently closed tabs. The current extension is designed for Chrome and Chromium-based browsers.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service. You may not:

  • Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive purposes.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or compromise the Service.
  • Use the Service to violate browser platform rules, laws, or third-party rights.
  • Misrepresent your relationship with RecentTabs.

3. Browser Extension Permissions

The extension may request browser permissions needed to provide tab switching, recent tab history, local storage, shortcuts, and recently closed tab recovery. These permissions must be used only for the intended product functionality.

4. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. RecentTabs is designed with local-first tab history: extension tab history is stored on your device as part of the core workflow.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, text, and other original materials, is owned by RecentTabs or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service may link to third-party websites, browser stores, or services. We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices.

7. Availability and Changes

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also change extension behavior to comply with browser platform requirements, improve reliability, or address security issues.

8. Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every browser version, or suitable for every workflow.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RecentTabs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, productivity, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
